ABOUT
THE
COMMITTEE

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) simulation is one of the most common and significant committees in Model United Nations (MUN) conferences. It mirrors the real-life General Assembly of the United Nations, where all member states come together to discuss and address global issues.

In an MUN setting, the UNGA typically consists of delegates representing various countries, each tasked with advocating for their country's interests while also collaborating to find solutions to global challenges. The UNGA covers a wide range of topics, including peace and security, human rights, economic development, environmental sustainability, and international law.

Delegates in the UNGA committee engage in debates, negotiate resolutions, and work towards consensus on how to address the pressing issues facing the international community. They must balance the interests of their represented countries with the broader goal of promoting peace, stability, and prosperity worldwide.

The UNGA simulation in MUN conferences offers participants the opportunity to develop crucial skills such as diplomacy, negotiation, public speaking, and consensus-building. It also fosters a deeper understanding of global issues and the workings of international diplomacy, preparing students to become informed and engaged global citizens.
