The 9th Edition

SHISMUN is Scottish High International School's annual Model United Nations Conference

National Testing Agency

AGENDA:

Discussion on reforms to bring in the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) with emphasis on student welfare.

ABOUT
THE
COMMITTEE

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is a premier, autonomous organization established by the Government of India to conduct various national-level entrance examinations. It was founded in 2017 with the aim of standardizing and streamlining the assessment process for admissions into higher education institutions across the country.  The NTA holds paramount importance in the educational landscape.  In the ‘Model United Nations’ (MUN), during the NTA committee session, delegates will delve into crucial reforms aimed at enhancing the integrity of these exams while prioritizing student welfare.

The committee will primarily explore mechanisms for ensuring equal opportunities and support for all students, especially those facing socio-economic or regional disadvantages.

This entails discussions on accessible study materials, support systems for remote or disadvantaged students, and accommodations for students with disabilities.

Central to the discussions will also be the exploration of strategies to alleviate the burdens and anxieties faced by students during the preparation and execution of these high-stakes exams. This includes initiatives to promote mental health support, alleviate financial constraints through fee waivers or scholarships, and enhance transparency in the evaluation process to mitigate undue stress.

Furthermore, in recognition of the evolving educational landscape and technological advancements,  the committee will deliberate on the integration of innovative assessment methods and adaptive technologies to ensure the relevance and efficacy of these exams in evaluating students' aptitudes and competencies.

Through collaborative dialogue and innovative solutions, we aim to foster a committee environment where the principles of inclusivity, equity, and student welfare guide our deliberations towards constructive reforms in the administration of JEE and NEET exams.
